Otter Be Happy Studio is an art studio based in Indian Lake, Ohio. We are known for producing unique, whimsical, vertical cartoon illustrated works of art. We also create and produce children’s books.

I have been a cartoonist and an illustrator since I could hold a pencil. After graduating from the
Columbus College in Art and Design in Columbus, Ohio I worked as a freelance artist, graphic designer, Cartoonist, forklift driver and lots of odd jobs.

2009 was our first real attempt at doing art shows, which we found out is no easy task (incredibly difficult). This lasted for about two haphazzard years then we gave it up until 2021. After a ton of work, we kept on developing a much better system until our full time run in 2022. We took a break in 2026 to continue to make things even better and we are looking forward to our return in 2027!

Along with my wife Carisa, we illustrate children’s books and graphic novels, while raising our sons Caden and Leland.

Our ultimate goal is to create the absolute best illustrations and artwork that we can. We use fine woods in our frame construction, and of course every illustration I create starts with a pencil and Bristol board.
